We are delighted to share that a member of the ABILITY project team recently took part in the European Blind Union’s podcast “EBU in Action”.

Episode 12 – “The European Accessibility Act: A New Legal State of Play” brought together leading accessibility experts Daniel Casas (European Disability Forum), Susanna Laurin (IAAP), and Svajūnė Sirvydytė (Lithuanian Ministry of Social Security and Labour) to discuss the implementation of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) across Europe.

During this episode, our representative had the pleasure of sharing updates from Lithuania, highlighting national progress on accessibility and inclusion. This was also an excellent opportunity to present our involvement in the Horizon Europe project ABILITY, which focuses on developing an affordable, user-centred Braille display.

At ABILITY, we believe that the design of new assistive technologies must be guided by the real experiences, needs, and aspirations of blind and partially sighted people. Participating in conversations like this podcast helps ensure that users’ perspectives remain at the heart of innovation.
