Démonstration au Colloque Handiversité

3 avril 2025

Détails

We had the pleasure of participating in the Handiversité conference, organized by Paris-Saclay University in the Paris region, France. It was a day full of enriching discussions, inspiring talks, and meaningful encounters with other project leaders and students committed to innovation for inclusion.

This event was another great opportunity for our consortium to showcase the prototype of our multi-sensory touchscreen tablet, developed as part of the Ability project.

Thanks to haptic feedback technology, participants were able to experience several immersive use-case scenarios:

  • An interactive map of France, where vibrations help differentiate between land and sea, or intensify to indicate mountainous regions.

  • Bar charts with distinct vibration patterns, making it easier to differentiate data and facilitate interpretation.

The feedback from testers who tried the prototype is quite encouraging; they see real added value in the transmission of information through touch from an image or a graphic. More scenarios will soon be tested with visually impaired user panels to identify the most valuable applications for accessibility. These insights are invaluable in refining our technology and maximizing its impact on accessibility.
