On Wednesday, December 27, 2024, the H-Lab association, an active member of the Ability consortium, had the honor of participating in the Entrepreneurship festival "Doing business differently" challenge organized by the Blue Factory at ESCP Paris. This event aimed to foster creativity and innovation by exploring novel entrepreneurial approaches.
It was a unique opportunity to highlight the Ability project, inviting students to reflect on the many potential applications of haptic feedback technology on touchscreens. This technology, which recreates physical sensations through a digital interface, opens up diverse possibilities. The objective was to extend the discussion towards a more universal approach, not only catering to a specific audience with particular needs but also making it accessible for broader use. Rooted in the principle of universal design, this approach emphasizes that innovations designed to address specific challenges can also benefit everyone.
The business school students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, proposing rich and varied solutions. They explored sensory applications in fields such as art, culture, medicine, video games, household appliances, and virtual human interactions.
This day of collaboration highlighted the immense potential of haptic technology and the wealth of ideas that an open and inclusive approach can inspire. It also raised awareness among future economic leaders about the importance of integrating technological innovation into a universal perspective, including people with disabilities in this process.
We are thrilled by these fruitful exchanges and the students' creativity, which once again demonstrate that thinking "differently" can lead to bold and practical solutions that benefit everyone.
